When Avanza outgrew its GRC system, it saw new opportunities in Stratsys. A winning combination of ease of use and customer service won the day, and today they plan to bring more and more processes into their new system.

Avanza has revolutionized the banking industry with its digital platform for savings and mortgages.
Its vision is "to create a better future for millions of people". How is it going? At the time of writing, the number of customers is over 1.7 million and Avanza has won SKI's award for Sweden's most satisfied customers twelve years in a row.

Scalability and user-friendliness in focus

In the fall of 2020, Avanza found that they had outgrown their GRC system and needed to look for a new one. Johan Nilsson, Risk Officer at Avanza, describes it as a time whenthe company was undergoing a journey of maturity.

- The old system no longer matched our needs and ambitions. We felt that we could not develop and grow in it.

Because Avanza wanted to take a new step in its development, they had done a detailed needs analysis. Johan says that there was one characteristic that was particularly important:

- User-friendliness was the most important parameter. It's super important that the system is easy to work in, so that there is a short start-up period for us who will use it. We also wanted to be able to link our risks and incidents to processes instead of to silos in the form of units or departments - that's how we work internally.

The big picture was a key factor

After Avanza had evaluated a number of different systems, Stratsys was the winner. One of the decisive factors was the ability to get a clear overall picture and to be able to monitor and implement processes in one place.

According to Johan, it was also clear that the new system would simplify and streamline Avanza's daily work:

We saw that Stratsys would give us far more possibilities than we had before. And in terms of our most important criterion, user-friendliness, we were absolutely on target.

- We saw that Stratsys would give us far more possibilities than we had before. And in terms of our most important criterion, user-friendliness, we were absolutely on target. We would also be able to link risks, incidents, information classification and more to processes, just as we had requested. Being able to see and cut the information in this way is very flexible and time-saving.

Avanza has now been a Stratsys customer for just over a year. Johan Nilsson describes how they use the system in their business today:

- We use Stratsys on an overall level in our risk work. An important part is Risk & Control, which we use to assess risks and controls according to a variety of parameters. When we identify risks that require specific actions, we also use it for our action management.

Customer care in focus

Another decisive factor in choosing a supplier was how Stratsys distinguished itself as a supplier and partner:

- We found Stratsys to be a modern company that was culturally close to us. In addition, they were very accessible throughout the selection process. So, apart from the product meeting our requirements, it was very much the chemistry between us and Stratsys that made us choose them.

Johan can also confirm that Stratsys lives up to the positive first impression he got during the selection process
:

- We quickly got a good relationship with the team at Stratsys. They are very responsive and flexible, which of course makes such a large system change much easier to land. Stratsys gives us a completely different attention than our old supplier did. We really appreciate their customer service - and that goes a long way!

Continuing to grow together

According to Johan, Avanza is currently working on introducing even more processes into the system. He mentions, among other things, information security and continuity management.

- During the second quarter of 2022, all system owners and process owners in the business will begin to classify their assets in Stratsys. We have high hopes that it will facilitate the work. It will be exciting to see how it works!
